Ever looked at the pile left over after moving house? Flattened boxes. A bin bag stuffed with plastic wrap. Half a roll of tape nobody's going to touch again. Most of it's in landfill by the following week, and honestly, that's always bugged us. So we do things a bit differently. Whether you're shifting across Auckland or heading to the other end of Aotearoa, you can ask us to pack greener.
Now, green packing is no good if your mum's china shows up in bits. A reusable box still has to cope with the Southern Motorway and three flights of stairs. So everything here gets the same test our normal packing does. Does it get your stuff there in one piece? If not, we don't use it.

Good solid cartons. Flatten them, use them for the next move, and only recycle them once they're properly worn out.
Wherever we can, we go for stuff that breaks down by itself rather than sitting in the ground for decades the way plastic does.
Our moving blankets and furniture covers go out on job after job. Your couch gets wrapped in those, not metres of single-use plastic.
Great for the small fragile bits. Keep them afterwards for posting or storing things.
Not sure what mix you need? Ask when you're getting your quote. We'll sort it with you.
First, the rubbish. A family home can go through dozens of boxes, and that's before the wrap and paper. Reusing and recycling cuts a big chunk of that out.
Then there's the values bit. Lots of Kiwis already sort their recycling, bring their own bags to the supermarket and think twice before buying new. Fair enough that they'd want a mover who's on the same page. Businesses too. Plenty of them have sustainability targets and actually have to show they're hitting them.
And it's practical. Sturdy reusable cartons stack better in the truck and keep their shape in storage. Your stuff inside is happier for it.
Nothing else changes. Same clear quote, same single coordinator, same careful crew. Just tell us you want sustainable packing when you ask for a quote. We'll do all the packing, or drop the materials off if you'd rather do it yourself. Once you're unpacked? Keep the boxes, hand them to a mate who's moving, or chuck them in the recycling.
Leaving Auckland? No problem. It works just the same on intercity and inter-island moves, Whangarei to Invercargill.
Not always. The blankets, for one, are already part of every furniture move. If something does cost extra, you'll see it on the quote before you book. No surprises.
They'd better. A box that doesn't protect what's in it is pointless, eco or not. Strength comes first.
Yep, and it's probably the greenest option there is. If any look too flimsy for heavy or fragile things, the crew will say so.
Flatten them and stash them for next time. Or pass them on to someone else who's moving. Or recycle them.
