How the job actually runs
Auckland pickup
The Mount Wellington crew load the house or flat. Stairs, lifts, parking and any piano get asked about before the truck is sent.
The run south
The load stays on that job down the island. We do not tip your furniture into a second contractor at Taupō and hope it turns up.
Wellington delivery
Offload at the address you gave us. If a full-size truck cannot reach the door — and in this city that is common — the quote should already say so. We plan a smaller shuttle or extra hands for the steps.
Weather on the Desert Road and wind in the capital both delay days. You get a call if the window moves.
Dedicated truck or shared load
Your own truck
Loaded with your job only. Better for a full family house, a tight settlement date, or an office that has to be empty on a Friday. Costs more. Delivery window is tighter.
Shared / part-load
You pay for the space you take. Better for a one-bedroom flat, a student shift, or a few large pieces. Takes longer, because other drops sit on the same run. Say on the form if a wider window is fine.

Write how many steps from the kerb to the door. A shuttle van or extra crew belongs on the quote, not as a surprise on the day.
Wind and coastal suburbs
Island Bay, Lyall Bay, Seatoun, Miramar, Breaker Bay, Oriental Bay. Mattresses, mirrors and flat boards catch wind. They stay strapped until they are in the carry, not balanced on a deck in a northerly.
CBD and inner apartments
Te Aro, Wellington Central, Lambton, Thorndon, Courtenay, Mount Cook. Clearways, booked lifts, loading docks, Wilson parks, building managers who will not hold a lift. Send the loading window and the floor number with the quote request.
The Hutt, Porirua and Kāpiti
Petone, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Wainuiomata, Porirua, Tawa, Paraparaumu, Waikanae. Usually easier truck access. Still tell us about steep drives in the eastern Hutt hills and apartment buildings in central Lower Hutt.

Packing for a long North Island run
This load spends a full day on the road. Drawers empty. Glass cornered. Couches blanketed and wrapped. Nothing left free to walk across the deck on Transmission Gully or the Rimutaka hill.
You can pack yourself and we take the furniture. We can pack the kitchen, glass and frames and leave you the clothes. Full pack is available if you do not want to touch a carton. Materials can be dropped in Auckland before the move if you want a week to fill boxes.

How long does Auckland to Wellington take?
A dedicated truck is often loaded one day and delivered the next, if the road is open and access at both ends is straightforward. A shared load takes longer. Snow on the Desert Road, crashes on SH1, or a building manager who booked the lift for the wrong morning will add a day. The quote gives a range. We update you if it moves.
Do you have a depot in Wellington?
No. The yard is 16 Harrison Road, Mount Wellington, Auckland. Wellington is a destination we run to. If you need a move that stays inside Wellington with no Auckland end, say that on the form and we will tell you whether we can take it.
What if settlement slips?
Do not force a delivery onto a flat with no keys. We can hold the load in storage from the Auckland end and send it when the date is real.
What if there is no driveway, only steps?
Put the step count on the quote form. We plan a shuttle or extra crew. Hidden walk-ups are how jobs blow out on the day.
Can you do the Hutt or Kāpiti on the same run?
Yes. Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, Paraparaumu and Waikanae are normal drops on this corridor. The suburb still belongs on the form so the truck is not sized for a Te Aro loading dock when you actually live in Stokes Valley.
Is insurance included?
Ask for the goods-in-transit wording with the quote. Do not treat a website sentence as a policy.
How to get a usable quote
Send the Auckland suburb, the Wellington suburb, the date you have to be out, and the size of the job. Photos of the big rooms beat a guess at cubic metres. Mention steps, a lift booking, a piano, or a hill address in the first message.
